Inaugural Kupa Chess Tournament.
The mission of this tournament is to promote inclusion through the game of chess. Kupa Chess Tournament brings together children and adults from all walks of life and abilities. All children including those who are deaf, hearing impaired or have physical challenges are welcome to participate.
With the help of ZCF, Volunteer Chess Instructors (Micheal Musekiwa & Edmore Marimba) Deaf Zimbabwe Trust and its translators we are able to provide classes to some of the deaf children in Harare, Zimbabwe. Embodiment of the spirit of ToseSonke! When ToseSonke approached our friends at Sendittoo (a mobile platform for sending airtime across the globe) about getting involved in our mission to use chess to bring people together. There was no hesitation on their part to assist. In addition our partners at Zim Chess Foundation and Face to Face Academy were fully dedicated to bringing international excellence to the tournament.
